Root Canals
When a tooth's nerve becomes irreparably damaged, it can die, which kills the tooth and can pose a risk for infection. In some cases, patients can avoid the hassle and expense of tooth extraction and a prosthetic by undergoing root canal therapy. Modern tools, techniques, and anesthesia make root canals more comfortable and effective than ever. Dr. Brunner or Dr. Schwartz can often perform a root canal in just one visit.
The procedure involves removing damaged pulp from within the root's canal. The pulp is also called the nerve. We then fill the canal with manmade substance to prevent infection. Usually, we crown the tooth to protect it from external damage and to finish the procedure. Rest assured, if you visit Elmbrook Family Dental for root canal therapy, we will make sure that you are comfortable during the entire procedure.
If you've been told that you need a root canal, or if you have a toothache, call our office for a consultation. Elmbrook Family Dental serves the greater Milwaukee area from our Brookfield dental office.
