handwashWorried about the Swine Flu? Rest assured that we are doing our best to protect our patients during office visits. Our operatories are draped with plastic barriers that are changed between each patient, and all surfaces are wiped clean with an antimicrobial agent. In our reception and waiting areas we are taking extra time to wipe our chairs, door handles, childrens toys and counter tops down as well. Antibacterial hand spray is out for patients that wish to use it. At this point, no confirmed cases of the swine flu have been reported in the state of Wisconsin. There are however 5 probable cases at this time. The Center for Disease Control is currently working on a firm diagnoses for these people. Physicians and Health officials say the best things you can do are: wash your hands often, cover your mouth while coughing or sneezing and stay home from work or school if you are displaying signs of flu. There is no reason to be alarmed, but  be sure to take proper precautions and stay educated as the situation changes. For a reliable source of  local information, click: www.pandemic.wi.gov
